There is a captivating history to the Cambodia gambling halls that reside just across the dividing line from next door Thailand, in which casino gaming is not permitted. Eight gambling halls are anchored in a relatively tiny space in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. The 1st gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly followed. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 slot machines and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slots and 96 gaming tables, including eighty seven punto banco (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machine games and sixty six of the familiar gaming tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight casinos in Poipet, also a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a comprehensive resort and hotel compound that contains numerous comforts aside from the gambling den, which provides 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty one armed bandits and 88 tables.
