Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is an appealing background to the Cambodia gambling halls that lie just across the border from neighboring Thailand, where casino gaming is illegal. Eight casinos are situated in a generally tiny location in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia casinos is in a prime location, a 3 to 4 hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 largest betting centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The phenomenal capital gained from the casinos ranges from 7.5 million dollars to more than 12.5 million, and there are a number of limitations constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is presumed to be largely Thai; however, financing sources are ambiguous. The borders are ceremoniously open from 0900 to 17:00, and though visas are supposedly necessary to cross, there are means around this, as is true of many borders.
The 1st Cambodia gambling dens opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in 1998, leaving just a single gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored ship casino, highlights 150 slot machine games and 60 gaming tables. The Naga gambling hall never closes with 42 tables of mini-punto banco, 4 tables of vingt-et-un, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The initial gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long followed. A total of 150 one armed bandits and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four one armed bandits and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 slots and seventy table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and 96 table games, including eighty seven baccarat banque (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slots and 66 of the familiar gaming tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight casinos in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and 97 table games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an international resort and hotel compound that features many comforts accompanying the gambling hall, which provides 10,000 square feet of 130 slot machines and 88 table games.
